Today Big Country (with new front man Mike Peters of The Alarm) announced its upcoming 2CD “deluxe edition” reissue of its 1983 debut album The Crossing on Jan. 30 in the U.K. and will be supplemented with seven B-sides and a second disc featuring 17 demos, 10 which are previously unreleased.

Big Country, who formed in November 1981, will kick-off their 30th anniversary celebrations by performing their classic 1983 debut album The Crossing live in its entirety during a thirteen-date tour of the U.K. in February 2012.

On August 1st 1981 MTV launched at 12:01 AM with The Buggles' "Video Killed the Radio Star" and sparked the moment when 'pictures came and broke your heart.' The first hour featured videos by the Buggles, Pat Benatar, Rod Stewart, The Who, Cliff Richard, The Pretenders, Todd Rundgren, Styx, Split Enz, and .38 Special.

Erasure Returns With Brand New Album Tomorrow's World + Announce First Us Tour Dates In 5 Years!

Synthpop pioneers Erasure are back with Tomorrow's World, the band's first album in more than four years. The new album is out Fall 2011 and is produced by one of the UK dance scene's most exciting new talents, Frankmusik, whose remixing credits include Lady Gaga, Pet Shop Boys, Ellie Goulding and Far East Movement, and whose solo album Complete Me debuted at number 13 in the UK Albums Chart. Tomorrow's World was mixed by Rob Orton.

After Erasure's triumphant return to the stage for Short Circuit presents Mute at the Roundhouse, London - a one-off performance which saw Vince Clarke perform with very special guests Alison Moyet and Feargal Sharkey - plus a performance at 2011's Ultra Music festival, Erasure is bringing the new album to the USA for their first tour in five years.

The 25-date US tour begins on August 31st in Tampa, continues through September, and finishes in Seattle on October 6th. Tickets go on sale on Friday June 24th. Ticket presales - which will offer a chance to preorder the new album Tomorrow's World - will start on Wednesday June 22nd.

Tomorrow's World was written in New York, London, and at Vince Clarke's cabin studio in Maine following a short break, which found Andy Bell recording and releasing his second solo album Non Stop, and Vince Clarke reuniting with former Yazoo partner Alison Moyet for a recent tour. It was recorded in Maine, London and Los Angeles between January and June 2011, with Vince using his vintage collection of analog synths for the final touch. The end result is a collection of electronic songs that sound totally contemporary and classic at the same time. All songs are written by Bell and Clarke.

Tomorrow's World is set for release on Mute in Fall 2011.

For many years I played the song "Radio" on Retropolis and in my promos. One of my favorite songs from The Members...many listeners would email me asking about that song...well now they are back in full swing with a new release and tour...let's hope they come to the US soon!

Formed in Surrey, England, in the summer of 1977, the Members were among the new wave of British bands jumping on the punk bandwagon. The band -- composed of Nicky Tesco (vocals), Jean-Marie Caroll (guitar), Gary Baker (guitar), Adrian Lillywhite (drums), and Chris Payne (bass) -- was among the first to successfully blend reggae rhythms with punk's attitude and aggression. Stiff Records saw some promise in the band and signed them early in 1978, releasing their first single, "Solitary Confinement." The success of the single led to their signing with Virgin Records in 1979. Their Virgin debut single, "Sound of the Suburbs," made it into the British Top 20 but subsequent singles failed to match its success. After replacing Baker with Nigel Bennett, they recorded their first LP, Live at the Chelsea Nightclub, which also made a brief appearance in the lower reaches of the U.K. charts. Around this time, the 2-Tone movement was stealing much of their limelight and their popularity began to fade. After one more album for Virgin in 1980, 1980 the Choice Is Yours, they were dropped by the label. After a brief layoff, they returned in 1982 with Uprhythm, Downbeat (released in 1983 in the U.K. as Going West), broadening their sound with horns and a more serious attitude. "Working Girl" from the album became a cult classic in the U.S. through MTV exposure, but mainstream acceptance eluded them on both sides of the Atlantic. The band called it quits the following year. During the '80s, one of the most popular underground alternative bands to make a splash in the New York Tri-State area was, surprisingly, not a local band. In fact, APB hailed from across the pond in Scotland. While most alternative bands of the '80s used chiming guitars and/or icy synths to get their points across, APBwere an anomaly, as it was funk bass that led the charge (quite comparable to Gang of Four -- minus the political lyrics). In fact, their early work served as a blueprint for what the Red Hot Chili Peppers would follow on their first few releases. Formed in Aberdeen, Scotland, APB were comprised of singer/bassist Iain Slater, guitarist Glenn Roberts, and drummer George Cheyne, with a pair of percussionists added over the years (Nick Jones from 1982-1983 and Mikey Craighead taking Jones' spot from 1984-1989).

The group initially caused a buzz in Europe, which lead to several sessions for BBC Radio 1 between 1981 and 1984 (the John PeelSession twice, and the David Jensen Session and Peter Powell Sessiononce apiece). Several singles were issued as well, which served as the basis for APB's debut full-length, Something to Believe In, in 1985. New York radio soon embraced these singles (namely "Palace Filled with Love," "Rainy Day," "One Day," "What Kind of Girl?," and especially the infectious "Shoot You Down"), which led to several U.S. tours -- including spots over the years opening for both the Clash andJames Brown. Additionally, APB headlined their own New York gigs (including a performance at the famous venue the Ritz).

In 1986 a sophomore effort, Cure for the Blues, was released, as well as a four-song EP, Missing You Already, later that same year. The group would continue to perform sporadically for the remainder of the '80s, but would not issue any more new recordings. Interest inAPB increased by the early 21st century, thanks to the emergence of countless new wave revival acts, which led to a double-disc reissue of their debut in 2005, Something to Believe In: 20th Anniversary Edition, as well as a compilation of their early radio sessions, The Radio 1 Sessions, a year later. The four original members of Duran Duran - John Taylor, Roger Taylor, Nick Rhodes and Simon Le Bon - have announced today the global release of their 13th studio album, entitled ALL YOU NEED IS NOW. Produced by the Grammy Award-winning Mark Ronson (Amy Winehouse, Adele, Kaiser Chiefs, Lily Allen) and mixed by Spike Stent (Madonna, Björk, No Doubt), the record is a return-to-roots homage to Duran Duran’s most celebrated musical panache.

Selling over 80 million records over their three-decade career, Duran Duran certainly has a storied history, but this new tale begins in 2008. As part of a year-long run, they headlined festivals in a number of countries, playing arenas in others, and became the first group to perform at the Louvre Museum in Paris. Two nights later, in the same city, Duran Duran treated fans to a specially created “mega-mix” one-hour set that was filmed in a tiny theatre, with long-time-fan, Mark Ronson. This rare live performance, immediately proved that there was a powerful chemistry between Ronson and the band, and within just a few weeks, a much larger collaboration had developed, with Mark committing to produce the band’s 13th studio album. Starting out in the late Spring of 2009, at Sphere Studios in London, this much-anticipated Duran/Ronson union flourished, as writing and recording began on an exciting new body of work, which Ronson has boldly stated is the “imaginary follow up to Rio that never was.”

The band’s songwriter and synth player, Mark Pothier, was two decades into a journalism career – working as Deputy Business Editor for The Boston Globe – when singer Ken Scales called him about 18 months ago. They hadn’t played together since 1983, when Pothier left Boston’s acclaimed but commercially underfed Adventure Set to join the traveling madhouse that was Ministry. And they had rarely even seen each other during the ensuing years.

That phone conversation – a variation on the “let’s get the band back together” theme – led Pothier to buy a cheap keyboard and spend many hours in his bedroom huddled over a MacBook, writing songs again for the first time in decades. Dozens of demos later, Pothier and Scales recently went into Gimme That Sound studio in New York’s Catskills with Grammy-winning producer Stephen George, also formerly of Ministry

The reincarnated Adventure Set’s new double single, “Paler Faces” and “Vitamin” [Gimme That Sound Productions] comes from those sessions. While the band’s roots are deep [and still nurtured by a small base of original fans], these songs sound freshly grown. Any resemblance to the 1980s Adventure Set or any version of Ministry is through DNA only.

While Adventure Set is definitely not wallowing in the soft comfort of nostalgia [“Remember that night at The Rat?”], the backstory to this unlikely reunion of two middle-aged guys with much younger ambitions deserves telling.

Scales is considered by many in the Boston music scene to be one of the most talented and charismatic singers to have never broken big. With his bands Pastiche – winner of WBCN’s legendary first Rock and Roll Rumble – and, later, Adventure Set, he became known as a consummate frontman, sophisticated, cool and well-bred on eclectic and varied influences, starting with the Bowie-Ferry-David Sylvian school of vocalists. Adventure Set dissolved after several lineup changes, but not before producing a local hit, “Blue is For Boys.” Since then, Scales has been involved in various music projects, including a 2009 Pastiche reunion. Largely, however, he has remained an artist in waiting. Until now.

Pothier survived a nationwide tour in the ‘80s with Al Jourgensen. After a thorough cleansing, he got a job as a newspaper reporter. In 2001, Harvard University named him a Nieman Fellow, one of journalism’s most prestigious honors. He’s been an editor at the Globe for almost 10 years, and also writes. For instance, a 2004 story about Hugo Burnham, Gang of Four’s former drummer, led to the band’s widely praised reunion tours in 2005 and 2006. Those guys also had not talked in ages.

It’s a career path that has taken Pothier a world away from the music world. That changed with the call from Scales. Ever since, the two have working together as if 20 years gone were just a sliver of time -- like the old days in a new century.

And weirdly but somehow appropriately, the band that caused Adventure Set’s breakup – Ministry – is directly connected to its rebirth, thanks to the participation of Stephen George [who in addition to producing, plays drums on “Paler Faces.”]

This single serves an introduction to their improbable collaboration. All these years later, Adventure Set has begun.

Untitled #23, Priest=Aura and Starfish performed in their entirety in one night.

In an unprecedented touring event the church return to select cities in the USA to play not one, but three classic albums in one night!

The band, recently inducted into the Australian Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, will begin the night in the present, covering the last decade with the critically acclaimed Untitled #23. Proceeding backwards into the '90s the band will then perform perennial fan favourite, Priest=Aura (an album not supported by a tour when originally released in the USA). And, what better way to conclude the evening than with a performance of the all-time classic album, Starfish.

Come early, leave late and enjoy three great albums in succession played live and electric from one of the great inventive rock bands of our time.

Reissues of the band's early albums will also finally be available in the USA alongside contemporary releases, all on the Second Motion Entertainment label. The reissues will come in luxurious digi-packs with rare photos and exhaustive sleeve notes written by Marty Willson-Piper.

I am lucky enough to live close to where the band rehearsed for their upcoming Talk Talk Talk tour...kicking the tour off at two exclusive US dates at small venues for warm up shows in the US before heading to the UK.

Talk Talk Talk is one the Furs finest albums played start to finish. Richard was at the top of his game with the vocals and his smile just radiated thru the whole show. Mars blows a mean sax, I call it sax-a-tude, and Tim & Rich kicked ass on Bass & Guitar. Thanks to Richard for the wonderful hug! After performing a set of Talk Talk Talk, the band returned with a second set of Furs songs. What's next...crossing my fingers 2011 brings a new release! If you are in the UK, you must catch this show!

Tom Tom Club kicked off their "Genius of Live" Tour on September 21st in their home town at the FTC Fairfield, CT.

The tour is supporting their new released CD "Genius of Live" which hits the stores on September 28th, and is available now on iTunes.

Both the Band and the CD are Fantastic! So full of energy the band and the crowd "Bounced" from the start of the show to the end. For a band that hasn’t done a major tour since 2002, they were well polished.

I highly suggest getting the CD if you are a fan, for the booklet & photos, as well as the bonus 2nd CD which contains 11 different remixes of "Genius of Love 2001"

The band is doing a few select dates thru 2010 and then will hit the road with a full tour in 2011. This show is a must catch if they come near you! Check the Tom Tom Club site for more dates.

Claudia Brücken is a German singer who fronted the synthpop groups Propaganda and Act. Since 1996 she has been working with OMD member Paul Humphreys as Onetwo.

Thomas Leer is a British musician who released a number of albums and singles as a solo artist and was one half (the other being Claudia Brücken) of the 1980’s synthpop band Act.

Peter Godwin is a musician, singer, songwriter and producer who was part of the band, Metro, as well as a solo artist. His work includes "Criminal World" which was covered by David Bowie and his 1982’s “Images of Heaven” was a cult favorite on new wave radio stations and the dance remix of his song “Baby’s in the Mountains” was a big dance hit in clubs.

His solo album, Correspondence was issued by Polydor Records in 1983.

In 1998, a number of his songs from his time with the band Metro, his early 1980’s solo work, and a couple of new songs were released on the CD “Images of Heaven: The Best of Peter Godwin” released on Oglio Records.

He wrote lyrics with a "spiritual bent" for Steve Winwood’s 2008 album Nine Lives. The song “Dirty City” which he co-wrote is also on “Revolutions: The Very Best Of Steve Winwood" and it just entered the UK Album Chart at #18

In 2009 Peter’s new band Nuevo released “Sunset Rise” Absolutely brilliant CD, take a listen and you will fall in love with Nuevo. Peter just returned from Bali filming the video for the single “Chocolate”.

Expanded 2CD reissue of the only solo album to date from Claudia Brücken, electronic pop siren and lead singer of Propaganda, the band NME described as the 'Duel' in ZTT Records' crown. Originally released in 1991, the album includes the singles 'Absoluté', 'Kiss Like Ether' and 'Fanatic', co-written with godfather of electronic music Thomas Leer, with whom Claudia formed the cult ZTT band Act in the late 80s.

Cherry Red's expanded reissue includes the original album plus 10 bonus tracks covering all the singles, B-sides and remixes of the era. 'Love...' was produced by Pascal Gabriel who at the time was on the wave of massive success producing and co-writing Bomb The Bass' Beat Dis and S'Express' Theme from S'Express. But it was this album with Claudia Brcken that set the standard for every electronic diva that has followed in her wake all of which have been produced by Pascal Gabriel Goldfrapp, Kylie, Dido, Little Boots, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Ladyhawke. Other artists featured on the album include Glenn Gregory (Heaven 17), Steve Jansen (Japan), John Uriel (ABC, Thomas Lang), Steve Nye (Penguin Cafe Orchestra), and singers Claudia Fontaine and Carol Kenyon.

Three tracks are released on CD for the first time, including Pascal Gabriel's promo-only 12" Bastille Mix of 'Absoluté' and the Earth Mood Magic in a Present Tense 12" mix of 'Kiss Like Ether' by John Waddell, whose remix credits range from Kylie to De La Soul.
